Staff Accountant
Abbott and Company is looking to introduce a dedicated, experienced individual with exceptional organizational skills to our team. The full-time staff accountant will provide support to the Accounting and Tax Managers with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end procedures for clients. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
∙ Assist the Accounting and Tax Managers with the day-to day, monthly and year-end procedures of clients
∙ Complete tax returns for clients of all filing types and statuses
∙ Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedures
∙ Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivables
∙ Fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary.
∙ Prepare and analyze the monthly budget
∙ Excellent communication skills including both written and verbal.
∙ Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, payroll accruals and prepaid expenses.
∙ Close attention to detail.
∙ Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and tax planning analysis.

Part-time and Intern Positions Available
Abbott and Company is looking to help teach the next generation of accountants. For part-time employees and interns, we ask for a minimum time commitment of at least one year in exchange for hands on experience that many other firms do not offer.
∙ Assist the Accounting and Tax Managers with the day-to day, monthly and year-end procedures of clients
∙ Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedures
∙ Work closely with tax preparers to gain knowledge and experience of how returns work
∙ Excellent communication skills including both written and verbal.
